Nowadays Athens provides its citizens and tourists a lot of free newspapers and magazines on a daily and weekly basis. It’s already part of our everyday life and as time goes by their readership grows very fast.


Athens Voice is a weekly free press that gets published every Thursday. It has been one of the most known free press papers in Athens since it began in October 2003.

Its issues are about life in the city, travelling, music, guest djs in Athens, theater, cinema, love life, signs etc.

You can find it at train, metro, tram stations, in universities, postal offices cafes, bars and the foolowing shops: Everest, Odeon Cinemas, Papasotiriou, Eleftheroudakis, Pizza Hut, KFC, TGI Friday’s, Applebee’s, Flocafe, mastihashop, IEK Delta, Seven Video net and in flights of Aegean Airlines.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is a free press newspaper that comes out every Thursday. It has articles about politics, entertainment guide, suggestions for new movies, theaters, dining out, signs etc.

Lifo is a weekly free press newspaper that gets published every Thusday. It is a full and useful guide for all those who wish to remain active while living in Athens. It provides information to its readers about culture, art, events, news etc.

Metro is a Greek daily newspaper published in Athens. It has been the first daily free newspaper that came out in Greece. It begun in November of 2000 when it was formely called Metrorama. The beginning of its distribution coincided with the beginning of the Athens Metro in Attica; outside of its stations the first stands of the papers distribution were placed. The newspaper distributes from Tuesday to Thursday 100,000 papers in Athens and from Monday to Friday of every week 130,000 papers. It’s free and you can find it at every metro, tram and train station, at Starbucks coffeshops, at Grigoris fast food, Mc-Donald’s, at Polis Park parking stations and in big hotels of Athens.

City Press is a daily free political newspaper which began in June 2003 and distributes 110,000 papers daily in Athens. Its content is about the Greek and international political, economical, social and environmental news, sports news as well as articles and suggestions about life in the city of Athens. It is free and you can find it in metro, tram and train stations of Athens, in universities, central squares of the city and in a lot of bars, cafes and restaurants of Athens.
