Free Wi-fi Internet in Athens !

If you have ever seen people in Sintagma Square of Athens seating in benches with open laptops surfing through the web don’t get surprised! It’s for free!

There are already four public wireless hotspots in the centre of Athens. Except of Sintagma Square you can have access at the area of Thiseio in the pedestrian street called Apostolou Pavlou, Asomaton Street and the train station of Thiseio. Also in Kotzia square and the ground floor outside the National Foundation of Research in Vasileos Konstantinou street.

The only thing you need to have is a laptop or mobile phone that support and permit Internet access through a wireless spot. Athens wifi begun its operation in June 2006 and has gained a lot of fans since then.

Moreover, you can have free internet access at Starbucks coffeshops though you propably would have to buy their expensive coffee for that. Finally, the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos offers to everyone 45 minutes of free Internet Access at the airport facilities.
